Performance 2017 A Souvenir of Great Yarmouth

Magaidh is currently rehearsing A Souvenir of Great Yarmouth by Uig writer Eric J MacDonald. This 10 minute monologue is centred on the life of Lewis girls who followed the herring shoals as part of the curer’s gutting crews during the 1930s.

The first performances will be in some of the care homes as part of the Arora project and the Open-Mic as part of Womens International Festival Isle of Lewis, on Thursday the 11th March.

Os Mo Chionn Sheinn an Uiseag the Gaelic version of this popular play, was performed in several island communities and maritime festivals during 2014.
